Kairos Technologies, Inc – Support the Mission for a Hunger-Free North Texas

In a novel twist to celebrating employee birthdays, forty-five of our team members and their families volunteered with the North Texas Food Bank (NTFB). NTFB is a non-profit relief organization dedicated to ending hunger in North Texas. The team of Karios volunteers and their families helped NTFB sort and pack meals for school children as part of the Backpack program.

Mr. Raj G. Asava, Co-founder Indo-American Council (IAC) for NTFB, helped Kairos coordinate the volunteer activity with NTFB. Speaking about his experience, he said, “Once Sudhakar (founder Kairos Technologies Inc) and his team learned about the hunger issue in North Texas, they jumped in action to raise awareness within the communities they live; volunteered their time to sort and pack food for the needy; initiated food drive programs at their offices; and contributed generously to help close the hunger gap in our neighborhoods. Kudos to the team for leading through example!”

According to NTFB, more than 800,000 people in North Texas are food insecure. Almost 300,000 children in the region suffer from hunger. NTFB has been providing access to more than 190,000 meals per day for hungry children, seniors and families in North Texas. They plan to achieve, 92 million meals annually by 2025.

To help NTFB’s mission, Kairos’ team of volunteers joined them at their facility in Dallas. The team of volunteers tirelessly arranged and organized items that were added to backpacks. These backpacks were meant for elementary school children who go hungry over the weekend when free and reduced-price meals, provided by schools, are not available to them.

The significance of these backpacks was not lost upon our dedicated volunteers. Adults and children alike were running across the floor making sure not a single moment was wasted. At the end of a marathon three hours, the team had packed a total of 1512 backpacks, which is equivalent to 4,528 meals!

Mr. Sudhakar Pennam, founder of Kairos, who was part of the activity as well, said; “It was a humbling experience to be part of this mission. We are touched by the great work that North Texas Food Bank is doing to provide nutritious food to underprivileged kids.”

Karios has become the first corporation in the NTFB-IAC circle to set-up a recurring volunteering program with NTFB. Additionally, we have also pledged a sum of $10,000 over three years to support NTFB’s mission of a healthy and hunger-free North Texas.

“North Texas Food Bank is grateful for the social leadership shown by Kairos Technologies through their gift of funds and time”, said Jeanne Clark, Vice President of Finance and Administration for the North Texas Food Bank. “Their recurring volunteer engagement will give employees the opportunity to fight hunger directly and will also provide the Food Bank with a dedicated volunteer base. A special thank you to Sudhakar Pennam and the team, you are leading by example, showcasing how a business can invest in the local community.”

When we return to volunteer with NTFB again, we will be doing more than just celebrating employee birthdays. Kairos will be fighting for a hunger-free and healthy North Texas. As we progress, we hope to inspire each other to do more for the community.
